At Norfolk Police we know that most young people are not involved in crime or anti social behaviour. We also know that children and young people need advice, information and support to help them to make positive choices in their lives.

We have a Children and Young People's Strategy which you can see here.
It is a bit of a long document so we've put the key points below:
• Whoever you are you will be treated with equality, dignity and respect

• Talking and listening, we can learn from each other

• Working together, we can make positive contributions to our communities
• We will work to help young victims and witnesses trust and have confidence in those people who are there to help them

• We will make sure that victims and witnesses are cared for, respected and protected

• We will respond to each persons individual needs
• We will provide information and advice at the right time to help young people make the right choices and to help them to stay safe

• We will share information with other organisations and work to reduce the risks of young people getting involved in crime and anti social behaviour
• Children and young people getting involved in crime or anti social behaviour will be challenged and we will deal consistently, fairly and quickly with them

• We will work to reduce the chance that a young person continues to commit more crime
• Whoever you are, if you make crime your career, it is our job to catch you

• We will work with people from Schools, Youth Offending Teams, Connexions and others to try to help any young person to stop causing harm to themselves, their family or their community
• We will try to understand the issues affecting children and young people

• We will work to make sure that our staff are trained and qualified to work with young people

• We will ask children and young people to help us to develop our skills
