A foreword by Nick Ross
Almost everyone gets hurt, attacked,
bullied or has something stolen. Its a sad fact of life. You may have done
something nasty to others. You may feel you are unfairly victimised. Sometimes you can
shrug your shoulders, but its normal to have feelings about it: anger, fear, upset
or guilt. Bottling those feelings up is probably not a good idea. Its good to talk
it through with family or friends. But sometimes its easier to talk to someone who
is not so close to you, who is not going to get upset or judgemental at anything you say
and who understands crime and its effects on young people.
Whatever youve done or whatever has happened to you, if youre feeling bad about it, try calling the people at Victim Support. Theyre friendly, theyre professional, theres no charge, and they deal with tens of thousands of cases every year. You might be surprised at how much they can make you feel better.
Being a victim of crime is not your fault. Victim Support is only a phone call away.
